The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Trailer

This is one of the most original films ever made, and one of the most criminally underrated. This is the movie W.D Richter made before Slither was a gory twinkle in his eye.
I’m putting this up primarily for the Movie Preview Critic’s collection of good films to see. Long Live Good Movies 🙂
If you like classic rock, the way of the samurai, aliens, fast cars, cowboys, unconventional humor, crazy german scientists, some of the most quotable lines in history, John Lithgow, brain surgery, and super powered Jamaicans…this is your movie, and none other will do!
As the villian John Worfin so elegantly puts it: “I am sure in the miserable annals of the Earth, (Buckaroo Banzai) will be duly enshrined!”

  1. This is an 80s revival movie FROM THE 80s , it doesn't get any better than this. Think of Kung Fury turned up to 11, shot and directed by people from back in the day. Words cannot describe how unbelievable this movie is.

  2. Went back to watch the movie for my first time in 30 years. Interesting note I didn't notice (and obviously couldn't verify back then anyway) is that one of the characters is named John O'Connor and a slightly more popular/successful sci-fi came out two months later with a character (only by name) John Connor.

  3. My favorite part of this movie is watching John Lithgow chewing up the scenery as the demented alien "Dr. Emilio Lizardo". At times he's so manic he actually spews spit around the set. He's half mad scientist and at least half Mussolini.

  4. Some critic recently said of this film, "[BB] doesn't give a f__k what you bring to the party, your pre-conceived notions and so on. It just lays itself out there for you to figure out what it means."
